Join us to celebrate Civic Day with a walking tour looking at placemaking, illuminated by the wisdom of Josiah Wedgwood and James Brindley, whose work on pottery manufacture and canals in the 18th Century transformed the area now known as The Potteries. The 3-mile walk leads from St John's Church to Longport, and then via the Trent & Mersey Canal to the site of Wedgwood's factory in Etruria.
There is a shorter return route (under 2 miles) through Festival Park and The Grange, or you can make your own arrangements.
The event is free but donations to the Society will be welcomed on the day or online.
