Join us for a series of events exploring the city's heritage and involving local people in the places that matter to them.
Potteries Heritage Society is working with Heritage Culture Communities and local partners to deliver this exciting project as part of the city's Heritage Lottery-funded Heritage Places programme.
Each Roadshow is planned to run from 10am to 1pm and includes a guided walk led by Potteries Heritage Society (places can be reserved on the day).
PHS will provide support as the ‘Heritage Host’ at each event. The six Heritage Roadshows will take place from May to July, each related to different areas and co-hosted by a local community group. They will include a mapping exercise of heritage assets, a heritage themed walk and other family orientated activities.
Funding has been secured to host six Roadshows in 2025 (see the details below) but we hope to secure further resources so that the programme can be extend into 2026 and cover more areas within the city. It is intended that the second year will include heritage arts that are further from the main towns, such as Whitfield Valley, Northwood & Abbey Hulton, Fenpark and Berry Hill, Hartshill & Penkhull and Hanford & Trentham.
Each area is detailed on the on the appropriate maps (click to enlarge) on which are highlighted listed buildings (in pink), buildings of special local interest (purple) and conservation areas (green hatched).
