Oliver Lodge: Scientist and Spiritualist

Fri, 09/09/2022 - 14:00
Penkhull Village Hall
Sir Oliver Lodge
Penkhull Village Hall, Trent Valley Rd, Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent, ST4 5JB

Friday 9th September

14:00 - 15:30

Penkhull-born Sir Oliver Lodge was a highly regarded scientist, pioneer of radio and electromagnetic radiation, and inventor of the spark plug. Unusually, given his background, he was also a major proponent in belief in spiritualism. Local historian, Phil Rowley, presents a fascinating talk about the scientist's life and works in the village that still has a strong association with his legacy.
