A rare early evening opportunity to visit Winkhill Mill and peek into a traditional Stoke-on-Trent tile manufactory. Visitors will also be able to explore a special exhibition of stunning encaustic tiles and unusual studio ceramics. The exhibition called 'Shared Stories Vol 2' is a mix of exquisite encaustic tiles and unusual studio ceramics created and curated by artists Danny Callaghan (Ceramic City Stories) & Craig Peebles (Welby & Wright). The work reflects their long creative collaboration driven by a shared love for tiles and architectural ceramics.

Visitors are offered a rare opportunity to join a guided tour behind the scenes at Winkhill Mill, a traditional ceramic tile manufactory. The Firing Line produces dust pressed tiles using traditional techniques and 100 year old cast iron machinery. There is also a chance to see Shared Stories Vol 2, an exhibition of contemporary encaustic tiles and studio ceramics, created and curated by Danny Callaghan (Ceramic City Stories) and Craig Peebles (Welby & Wright).

St Bartholomew's Church Norton-le-Moors is a Grade II listed building with outstanding views towards the Staffordshire Moorlands. Visitors to the belfry and the Church will be able to learn more about its fascinating history. The first Church in Norton-le-Moors was recorded from 1180, the parish of 'Nortone' is listed in the Domesday book. The present building was built in 1737 with a further extension completed in 1915. Explore the Church and its surroundings using the 'Guide for Visitors' pamphlet and our volunteers will be happy to assist in any way. Access to the belfry is from the footpath, climb to the top of the steps where the ringers will be demonstrating their skills from 12 noon and happily talk about bell ringing as well as encouraging you to have a go. The Church itself has many different facets, including beautiful stained glass windows, hand embroidered altar frontals as well as a stunning eagle lectern to name a few. There will also be exhibitions in the Church, as well as light refreshments.

Explore the belfry, see tombs of the founders of world famous potteries of Spode and Wedgwood, get up close to exquisite stained glass windows, get a birds eye view of the Minster with unique drone footage. Guided tours of the interior and grounds are available and run every half an hour from 10.00am. The last tour will start at 13.00.

Attendees will be able to compare historic views of Stoke-on-Trent Railway Station with the Grade 2 listed building that remains today. Tours are not suitable for children under 12.

Join the Potteries Heritage Society in exploring the work of millwright and canal engineer, James Brindley, who set the blueprint for the canals of the eighteenth century and the emerging industrial revolution. Discover how the dimensions of the narrow canals and narrowboats were forged in The Potteries. The walk explores the area around the Etruria Junction, where the Trent and Mersey and Caldon Canals meet and is scheduled alongside the open day at Etruria Industrial Museum's Victorian Potter's Mill and "Power in The Potteries: Energy Exhibition".
